History
Indian Tech Professionals are spread all over the globe. They are acknowledged for their skills, and professionalism. However, they did not have an organization which can represent their interests and provide a global platform suitable to the global nature of the profession. Moreover, the Indian Tech professionals can make a larger impact on India and host countries.
Thus, the need was perceived and discussions to launch such global platform was discussed from 2008 by Khanderao and other professionals with others in many cities both in India and US. The thought process to start this platform started in late 2008- early 2009. The organization’s first public program was launched in USA, in the Silicon Valley, on 15th Aug 2009. Initially the organization was launched as Information Technology (IT) Professionals of Indian Origin (ITPIO). After expanded very soon to various cities and India, the organization was re-branded as Global Indian Technology Professionals Association(GITPRO).
