GITPRO organized a Dinner Tech Talk event on the topic Docker for Java developers. The tech talk was presented by Arun Gupta, O’Reilly author, VP of developer advocacy at Couchbase. This session offered developers an introduction to Docker, from installation (including Docker Toolbox on Windows/Mac), to exploring Docker Hub, to crafting their own images, to adding Java apps and running custom containers. It also explained how to use Kubernetes to orchestrate these containers together.

Arun Gupta is the vice president of developer advocacy at Couchbase. He has been building developer communities for 10+ years at Sun, Oracle, and Red Hat. He has deep expertise in leading cross-functional teams to develop and execute strategy, planning and execution of content, marketing campaigns, and programs.
